Your Trusted Partner for
Advanced Cell Characterization

Cell Line Genetics is a specialized laboratory dedicated to advanced cell characterization supporting research and translational applications across Cell Therapy, Gene Therapy, Immunotherapy, and Regenerative Medicine.

Unlike general CROs offering broad laboratory services, CLG focuses exclusively on in-depth characterization of complex research cell systems—integrating genomic stability assessment, authentication, sterility analysis, and customized genetic studies within a focused scientific framework.
With expertise spanning pluripotent stem cells (ESCs, iPSCs), CRISPR-engineered systems, CAR-T and NK cell platforms, and other advanced immunotherapy models, Cell Line Genetics serves academic research institutes, biotechnology companies, and pharmaceutical organizations worldwide.

Depth of Experience Across Emerging Cell Platforms

With more than 100,000 characterization cases completed for academic, government, and industry laboratories, Cell Line Genetics brings extensive experience to complex and evolving cell systems. Our work spans engineered immune cell platforms, pluripotent stem cell technologies, and next-generation translational research models.
This experience enables us to provide not only accurate analytical results, but informed context across diverse cell types, modification strategies, and development stages.

Scientific Discipline in Translational Environments

With team members trained in clinical laboratory settings, Cell Line Genetics applies disciplined laboratory standards to research-stage and translational characterization. CLG was among the first independent laboratories to perform third-party characterization of ESCs, iPSCs, and CRISPR-modified cell systems.
Every result is generated under thorough validation and established protocols, with structured reporting designed to provide clear, defensible data across genomic stability, identity confirmation, and advanced cell system evaluation.

Rapid Turnaround Without Compromising Analytical Standards

Cell Line Genetics recognizes the time-sensitive nature of research and development programs. We deliver validated results within defined turnaround timelines while maintaining analytical discipline and clarity of reporting. Rush services are available when program timelines require accelerated review.
Our priority remains scientific reliability—ensuring responsiveness does not compromise methodological integrity.

Custom and Evolving Capabilities

Cell Line Genetics develops custom, validated assays tailored to complex and emerging cell systems. While experienced in established cytogenetic methodologies such as FISH and aCGH, our capabilities extend across genomic characterization strategies aligned with evolving cell engineering technologies. As cell therapy and immunotherapy platforms advance, CLG continues to expand its technical capabilities to support next-generation engineered cell models and translational research needs.

Lorraine Meisner, Ph.D.

Chief Scientific Officer

Dr. Lorraine Meisner is Emerita Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison) in both the Population Health Sciences and Pathology Departments at the Medical School. She served as director of the Clinical Cytogenetics Laboratory at UW-Madison and the State of Wisconsin Lab of Hygiene for more than 30 years, and has been a faculty member at UW-Madison since 1968.

Dr. Meisner directed the chromosomal studies of the first embryonic stem cell lines, famously derived by Dr. James Thomson in 1998, and has characterized more than 6,000 stem cell samples. In addition to teaching and serving as the Director of the Clinical Cytogenetics Laboratory, Dr. Meisner has extensively researched genetic and cell damage, focusing on the development of various forms of cancer. Dr. Meisner has more than 200 peer-reviewed publications in genetics, cancer and skin disease. Dr. Meisner is board-certified in cytogenetics and a founding member of The American College of Medical Genetics. Dr. Meisner holds a Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Chicago.

Roberto “Rob” Herrera, M.Sc.

Chief Scientific Officer

Mr. Roberto Herrera has over 20 years of corporate and start-up experience, excelling in the early-stage development of information technology and biotechnology ventures. After starting his career with Bell Laboratories’ Technology Transfer Division, Mr. Herrera held technology management positions at Salomon/Smith Barney and Montgomery Securities, leading to his appointment as Senior Vice President of Bank of America’s Global Fixed Income Technology and Operations group. Mr. Herrera later served as consultant for Catapulse, Inc. and VP of Operations for Capstan Systems, Inc.

Mr. Herrera is currently a director of Bioderm, Inc., moderator of the popular Linked-In Stem Cell Research Group and an active member of the Alliance for Regenerative Medicine’s Standards and Technology Committee. Rob holds a M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan.
